West Hills Medical Center offers a wide-variety of durable medical equipment to help with everything from your neck to your feet and everything in between. We offer the following durable medical equipment:
Cervical Traction – The traction unit is piece of medical equipment that allows you to alleviate neck and back pain in the comforts of your own home. This device decompresses joints, expands disc height, shapes and restores the cervical curve and helps to restore range of motion. This device is lightweight, portable and easy-to-use.
TENS units (or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) involes the use of electric current by a medical device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. TENS is a non-invasive, low-risk nerve stimulation procedure that can be used to reduce acute and chronic pain.
Lumbar Sarcal Orthosis (LSO). Lumbar sacral orthosis are designed to support the lower back in patients of all stages of recovery from back pain or injury. This orthosis supports the sacrum to the T-9 level and can be used to treat a number of conditions; including degenerative pathologies, osteoporosis, disc injuries and lumbar-sacral vertebrae complaints.
AFO (Ankle Foot Orthotics). AFOs are orthopedic devices that are used to support or correct the function of the foot and ankle. These devices can control, guide or limit the function of the foot and ankle. They can be used to limit weight-bearing on particular regions of the foot and ankle as well as aid in the rehabilitation process from a foot and ankle injury.
Knee Braces. West Hills Medical Center offers a wide-variety of knee braces to meet the needs of all of our patients. Knee braces include:
- Off-Shelf. Off-shelf knee braces are economical and popular functional knee braces that provide support to the ligaments of your knee during a variety of activities. Off-shelf braces are available for low and high impact activities.
- Measured. Measured knee braces are customized for a precise fit for your knee. A trained professional will measure and order a brace specific to your knee and needs. Measured knee braces offer top-of-the-line protection for those suffering from a variety of different knee ailments.
